Empowering Basotho to plug into the global economy to achieve objectives of Vision 2020
The world today is accelerating at a rate that foretells a future that will possess inventions and innovations beyond our wildest dreams. Those nations with the human capacity to lead in new discoveries will be in the forefront. The nations that have not built their human resources are bound to fall behind with the possibility of being impoverished. The digital divide is growing wider with every innovation and many developing nations are racing to catch up to safeguard the integrity of their economies.
Lesotho is a budding nation full of promise. There is creative talent to be mined. There are skills and knowledge to be developed so every Mosotho can become an active participant in building Lesotho's economy.
Technology is changing the global scenario and it just requires the right kind of talent and skills to plug into the global demands where companies are seeking to outsource production and services of digitized items. This University has been developing the creative talent of the next generation of over 100 countries. We are well-versed with the needs of these nations which are quite varied. We straddle across hemispheres providing the channel to give young people the knowledge and the experience they need to build their capabilities.
Despite being a small nation Lesotho can grow into a giant economy provided it is able to expand into new economic activities and further strengthen the existing engines of growth of manufacturing and tourism. This can only happen through the enhanced skills of Lesotho's next generation who must co-operate to develop their talent and their mindpower to take the economy to a new level through new and relevant directions.
The Limkokwing University will provide the support that Lesotho needs to empower its young citizens and thereby assist in achieving national aspirations envisaged in Vision 2020.
