The success of Lesotho’s Vision 2020 lies in a creative and innovative next generation of Basotho

The world is undergoing tremendous changes. We must be able to respond and survive in this changing and aggressive environment. Our Vision 2020 is anchored upon strengthening our people’s ability to meet these challenges. Our ability to progress requires every economic sector to move into higher value-added activities to achieve our goals envisioned for 2020. However, without human capital to power our national mission, we will never reach 2020 in the mould that we desire and have set for ourselves.

We now have just over a decade to achieve our Vision 2020. It will therefore require greater effort on the part of our people to ensure that they take advantage of all initiatives put in place for the achievement of this vision. The establishment of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Lesotho is an important milestone in this direction.

Limkokwing is a global university that comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of experience in developing the creativity, technology skills and knowledge of young people around the world. Its global connectivity is of a level that is unmatched and unprecedented by any other university in the world. This university will help us to create the knowledge and skills workers in Lesotho need. Through this university, we will have the human resource to expand the economy into new dimensions. It is our hope to transform Lesotho by tapping into the creativity of our young people and build them into leaders who will be well equipped to take Lesotho into a new future.

My warmest congratulations to Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Lesotho on the inauguration of their new campus in Maseru. All Basotho are greatly indebted to Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dató Dr. Lim Kok Wing, President and Founder of LUCT - the Global University, for this world-class institution. We are very happy that this university is now among us to provide 21st century learning environment that will develop this corps of smart, creative and techno-savvy graduates.
