Industrial Design


The program aims to cultivate responsive and responsible Industrial Designers who are citizens of the world, emphasizing an international outlook, cultural diversity, and an informed respect for indigenous cultures / norms and morals.

The department of Industrial Design is committed to quality and focuses on achievement driven learning. The curriculum of the Industrial Design program is designed to prepare graduates for lifelong learning and a set of transferable skills to move smoothly into a wide range of employment opportunities. In response to the national Development Strategy and the need for knowledge workers, the curriculum is allows students to develop themselves at their own pace to become designers but with supporting areas of new technology, computing, manufacturing knowledge and historical and theoretical understanding. In essence to develop a broad based, well rounded student who are techno-savvy, adaptable to change and committed to quality.

Entry requirements

Pass an ‘O’ Level or an equivalent qualification from a recognition institution by the local Ministry of Education.

Advance Standing

  • Pass a Foundation programme (minimum of 1 year), Pre-University, Matriculation in related field or discipline or any other equivalent qualification from a recognised institution by the local Ministry of Education; or

  • Pass a Diploma programme (minimum at Year 1or Year 2) in related field or discipline or any other equivalent qualification from a recognised institution by the local Ministry of Education; and

  • In the instance of above point, credit transfer can be awarded by Head of School or Programme Leaders based on individual cases through the inspection of results transcripts and course details (curriculum) in the related field or discipline from a recognised institution by the local Ministry of Education.
